Credit card interest rates at 12 year high

The current average interest rate on credit cards is at a 12 year high of 18.8% pa.( source Moneyfacts Feb 2010 )
An unsecured fixed term loan with PCU costs only 9% pa. and, with interest calculated daily on a reducing balance and not interest on top of interest, the attraction of consolidating credit card balances into a single cheaper loan is even greater than it was.
