Compensation level raised to £50,000

 The Government has announced that, with effect from 07 October 2008, the level of guarantee for savers, in the event of a financial organisation failing, is now £50,000.

As the maximum savings level with Police Credit Union is currently £35,000, the new compensation level does not directly impact on Police Credit Union savers, whose savings to that level are fully guaranteed already.
