Peter Evans - Chief Executive

Peter Evans joined PCU as Chief Executive in March 2005. With a background throughout his career in marketing and management, he has worked in industrial, commercial and charitable sectors but has particular experience in the not for profit health insurance sector and mutual financial services with Staffordshire Building Society, where he was General Manager (Marketing and Development).

He is a school governor, trustee of a national charity for children with disabilities, a member of an advisory panel to the FSA, Supervisor to the Board of the national trade association for credit unions and a member of the Police Memorial Trust Project Board.

Michael Cartlidge - Development Officer

Michael Cartlidge served in the Staffordshire Police Force for 34 years before retiring in 2002. Whilst still serving, he became involved as a volunteer for the Mid West Police Credit Union, taking on responsibilities as a Supervisory Committee member in 1998. In 2000, he became Chairman of the Supervisory Committee.

In 2003, Michael assumed responsibility, still as a volunteer, for the Supervisory Committee for the newly merged Police Credit Union. He also assisted with membership recruitment in the Staffordshire area.

From April 2006, he became a part time staff member as Internal Audit Officer, now working alongside the Chair of Supervisory Committee. He became Compliance Auditor in 2007 and then Development Officer in 2011 to help increase membership and awareness of PCU.

Ian Curley - Welwyn Garden City Branch Manager

Ian Curley served for 33 years in Hertfordshire Constabulary, retiring as an Inspector in 2004 having carried out mainly uniform duties.

Following election as a Federation Rep in 1986, he was elected as a full time Federation official for his final 3 years of service.

A founder member of the Hertfordshire Constabulary Credit Union, he was a keen supporter of integration into Police Credit Union and became a Director in 2004, later taking the position of Deputy Secretary.

Ian resigned as a Director upon being appointed to the position of Branch Manager at Welwyn Garden City in March 2006.

Kamlesh Dhande - Finance Manager

Kamlesh Dhande joined in October 2007 as Finance Manager, based in Head Office in Birmingham.

She was previously Head of the Finance Department as Management Accountant for a Midlands based Arts Centre. Before this, she had worked for various financial institutions, including the not for profit sector in education, housing associations and arts.

Kamlesh is a part qualified Accountant with the ACCA and also practises her financial skills with voluntary work as Treasurer of a Scouts group and director of a large “Live and Work” Midlands credit union.

Carol Martland - Manager of Liverpool Branch

Carol Martland joined Merseyside Police Federation in 1990, before moving to the Merseyside Police Credit Union full time in 1991.

She worked as an administrator until 1998 when she became Manager.

Carol was involved in the merger meetings and became the Manager of the Liverpool branch of Police Credit Union in 2003

Jim Page - Product Administration Manager

Jim Page has sampled various types of employment since leaving college in 1995. These include working in facilities management and maintenance and for a large bank which Jim left to travel in 2002. He began working for PCU in June 2004 as a branch administrator and then as Deputy Manager in Birmingham before taking up his current role in March 2011.

Chris Parker - Exeter Branch Manager

Chris Parker became Exeter Branch Manager of the Police Credit Union upon its formation in 2003.

Coming from an office administration background, she had previously worked from 1998 as the part time sole staff member of the Devon and Cornwall Police Credit Union, whilst also being employed part time in the private health sector.

Myrel Robinson - Network Branch Manager

Myrel Robinson worked at West Midlands Police Headquarters for five years before joining West Midlands Police Credit Union in 1994 as an administrator. She was promoted to Birmingham Branch Manager of the newly merged Police Credit Union in 2003. Her duties also involve some administrative responsibilities for the whole network of branch offices and she became Network Branch Manager in 2010.

Jackie Stallard - Newcastle Branch Manager

Jackie Stallard joined the Newcastle branch of Police Credit Union as Manager in April 2008.

She has worked in the public services sector since 1992, including 12 years employment with Northumbria Police.

Kate Taverner - Bristol Branch Manager

Kate Taverner has worked in the police environment for well over 20 years, commencing with 9 years’ service as Personal Assistant to the Avon & Somerset Police Federation JBB Secretary.

She became Administrator for Moneymate, the Credit Union for Avon & Somerset and Gloucester Constabularies, on its inception in 1996.

Kate then became Bristol Branch Manager of the newly formed Police Credit Union in 2003.

Carole Way - Head Office Support Manager

Carole Way worked for Barclays Bank and Barclaycard, with sales and marketing experience also in the education and legal sectors. She joined Police Credit Union in 2004 and, in her role as Head Office Support Manager, she provides a support service to the Directors, Chief Executive and the branches.
