Children Today Charitable Trust

Children Today was been chosen as our official charity for three years as part of our ongoing commitment to putting something back into society. Children Today provides grants for vital, life-changing equipment for children and young people with sickness and disability across the UK.

Established in l994, the Children Today Charitable Trust exists because there is a huge gap in the provision of special equipment that aids daily living for disabled children and young people.

Grants can be put forward towards individually adapted wheelchairs, walking aids, tricycles, specially designed educational toys and communication aids which can transform the lives of disabled children. To get to know some of the children who have been helped by Children Today or, if you know of a child or young person who might benefit from a grant, go to www.childrentoday.org.uk

PCU Chief Executive Peter Evans comments:

There is a commonly held belief that if a disabled child needs an item of equipment it will be provided by social services or the NHS. This is not true. In fact, the shortfall of equipment supplied to disabled children and young people in this country is dire. It is almost always left to the parents or guardians to find the money and provide. This is where Children Today can be such a lifeline. We are delighted to be supporting this important, young charity that is doing such vital work in our local communities across the UK.
